Lusaka Water Security Initiative (LuWSI) hosted a successful Run for Water Security at EastPark Mall on 08th June 2024, focusing on raising awareness about water security issues in Lusaka and beyond.

The event featured a 21 km run, a 10 km run, and a 5 km run and walk, attracting participants of all ages and fitness levels.

 Representing the guest of honour, The Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation, Eng. Ryan Kambita Musole emphasized the importance of community engagement in addressing water challenges, stating, events like the LuWSI Run and walk for Water Security are crucial for raising awareness and mobilizing our community towards sustainable water management practices.

LuWSI Board Vice Chairperson Mr. Fungai Musana thanked the sponsors of the event, and the participants for their support and announced plans for future initiatives to continue addressing water security in Zambia.

Participants appreciated the organized routes and the educational activities highlighting water points and conservation practices. The event successfully united the community in a shared effort to promote sustainable water management.
